From the Telegraph of 20 June 2026: BARTON Katherine "Grizel" died at home on 19th May 2026, aged 96 years. Beloved mother of Karen and Sarah and devoted wife of the late Dr Russell Barton. 

She was d of Lt-Col David Edward MAITLAND MAKGILL CRICHTON 1879-1952 scion of the Scots gentry family of that Ilk (as well scion of the LAUDERDALE earls and FRENDRAUGHT viscounts, and gs of Sir Edward HULSE 5 Bt 1809-99) and Phyllis 1887-1982 d of Claude Arthur CUTHBERT 1860-1912 and Annie Beatrice 1866-1943 d of Sir James RANKIN 1 Bt 1842-1915 and Annie Laura BUSHELL 1844-1920. She m 1954 Russell William Andrew Charles 1923-2002 s of Charles William BARTON, and had two daus as above.
