The wife of the shadow Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Hon Frances
Osborne, has a descent from the Earls De La Warr, and particularly
from the notorious 5-times married "Bolter" Lady Idina Sackville:-

Frances is the wife of the Rt Hon George Gideon Oliver Osborne, MP (b
23 May 1971), Conservative MP for Tatton since 2001, and Shadow
Chancellor of the Exchequer in David Cameron's Opposition team. George
is the son and heir of Sir Peter Osborne, 17th Baronet (cr 1629). They
have issue:

The Hon Frances Howell (b 1969), is the 1st dau of the Baron Howell of
Guildford (life peer) b 18 Jan 1936, by his wife (Cary) Davina Wallace
(b. 1942), scion of that LG family, a daughter of Maj. David John
Wallace (1914-1944), 1st son of Capt the Rt Hon (David) Euan Wallace,
MC, MP (d. 9 Feb 1941) who married 26 Nov 1913 (div 1919), as his 1st
wife, Lady (Myra) Idina Sackville (b 26 Feb 1893; d 5 Nov 1955). Lady
Idina married 2ndly, 27 Mar 1919 (div 1923) Capt Charles Gordon, of
Park Hill, Aberdeen, scion of that LG family; 3rdly, 22 Sept, 1923
(div 1930), 22nd Earl of Erroll (1901-41); 4thly, 22 Nov 1930 (div
1938)Donald Carmichael Haldeman, JP. She married 5thly, 1939 (div
1946),Flight Ltd William Vincent Saltau, RAF (he d. 1 Aug 1964)

of Erroll, b 1901, d.1941 murdered in Kenya, by whom she had issue:-
Diana Denyse Hay, (23rd) Countess of Erroll in her own right, b 5 Jan
1926, d 16 May 1978.

NB: Lady Idina'a 1st husband, Euan Wallace, married secondly 10th May
1920 Barbara Lutyens, eldest dau of Sir Edwin Lutyens, architect (who
also designed Queen Mary's dolls' house). She md 2nd Lt Cmdr Herbert
Agar, USNR. They had issue:-

John Wallace. Born 21st March 1922. Died on active service
15th August 1946. Lt, The Life Guards.

Edward Peter Wallace, DFC. Born 15th May 1923. Killed in
action 4th November 1944. F/Lt, RAF.

William ("Billy") Euan Wallace. Born 7th February 1927. Educ
Eton & Univ Coll., Oxford. Friend of Princess Margaret. Married 22nd
October 1965 Hon Elizabeth Anne Hoyer Millar, elder dau of 1st Baron
Inchyra, GCMG, CVO.

I believe he asked for Princess Margaret's hand in marriage, but that
she declined.
HRH did attend his wedding at St Peter's, East Lavington, Wilts (Times
23 Oct 1965)

Billy Wallace died 4 February 1977, aged 49, after a lengthy illness.
He was constantly ill
from 1963. His final illness was cancer of the jaw & mouth. His demise
was reported in The Times
7 Feb 1977.
