John Frederick Foley de Rutzen died 11 October 1944, either killed in action or on active servoce, since he is buried in the Santerno Valley War Cemetery in Florence.

I post this because as far as I know this family has never been in the usual German genealogical works since before the war, so his death may not have been published in the usual genealogical works. The Barons de Rutzen are on a list in the 1920 Debrett's as having received authorization to use their "Baron" title in the UK.

The decedent's mother was a Thursby-Pelham, of that LG Family.

Ah, many thanks to Leigh Rayment for that. I did not know that they had appeared in the 2012 edition.

I have the majority of the dozens of GHdA volumes from the early 1950s through the early 2000s, but since 2011 I have been on a fixed income and have been unable to buy new books.
