According to DPB Online (which hasn't updated this page yet ), there are a total of 9 males in succession, including the new Viscount Pollington and his 3 sons (as Richard posted earlier), plus the 2 nephews of the current Earl  and their sons.

Of the 9, the Viscount is 48, and his 2 cousins  are 54 and 51.  The remaining  6 were all born in the 21st century.

DPB Online has updated this page.

It does reflect the Hon JAMES as the heir apparent, but not with the courtesy title Viscount Pollington.

It remains to be seen whether this was a mistake or if the new heir  will assume the courtesy title now or at some future date.

While he is entitled to the courtesy title, I doubt he will assume it. To the family, their brother has been "Pollington" for more than forty years, and James will likely not wait long before he is himself earl, so it would seem nothing but a headache to use the title for such a short time.

Paul, what you've posted makes perfect sense.
