The Baroness Carrington, who died 7 June, 2009, was the wife of the
6th Baron Carrington, KG, GCMG, CH, MC, PC, the former Conservative
Government Minister. She was Iona, dau of Lt-Col Sir Francis Kennedy
McClean, AFC, and married Peter Alexander Rupert Carington, 6th Baron
(cr I, 1796, GB 1797) in 1942, and leaves issue, a son, Rupert, b 2
Dec 1948, and 2 daus, Alexandra and Virginia (the latter was wife
between 1973 and 1979 of the 4th Baron Ashcombe). Funeral on Tuesday,
16th June at Holy Trinity Church, Bledlow.

Lady Carrington was a dau of Sir Francis Kennedy McClean, Kt (1926),
High Sheriff of Oxfordshire, 1932; b 1 Feb 1876, son of Frank McClean,
FRS; married 1918, Aileen, dau of W.H. Wale, he died 11 Aug 1955,
leaving 2 daus.

The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh were represented by the Lady
Soames, LG at the Funeral of the Lady Carrington which was held in
Holy Trinity Church, Bledlow, Buckinghamshire, 16 Jun 2009. The Prince
of Wales was represented by the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire. The
Duke of Kent was represented by Mr. Andrew Palmer. Princess Alexandra,
the Hon. Lady Ogilvy was represented by Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher,
Bt.
