From the Telegraph and Times of 26 May 2017: BEALE  Alice née Vestey wife of the late William Legard and the late Colonel B.P. Beale O.B.E., M.C., D.L. Beloved mother of Anne, Richard, Elizabeth and Stephen, grandmother, great grandmother and much loved aunt died peacefully in her 100th year on Tuesday May 23rd. The Funeral will be at St Peter's Church Southrop, Gloucestershire at 12 noon on Friday June 2nd. Family flowers only please to Norman Trotman & Hughes, Northleach, Glos. She was d of Hon George Ellis VESTEY (1884-1968, s of 1st Baron VESTEY), and Florence May (d 1964) d of Thomas WEBSTER of Melling, Lancashire. She m 1st 1939 Petty Officer William Ernest (1911-40) s of Sir Digby Algernon Hall LEGARD 13th Bt (1876-1961) and Georgina Blanche Elaine BARBER-STARKEY (1877-1952), scion of the gentry family of that name formerly of Darley Dale, and had a dau (Anne, above). She m 2nd 1943 Col Basil Perry OBE MC DL (1895-1967) s of Sydney Benjamin BEALE (1865-1921) and Elizabeth DAVIS, and had another dau and 2 sons as above.
