She was d of AV-M William Foster MacNeece FOSTER CB CBE DSO DFC RAF 1889-1978 and Jean 1905-82 d of Ralph Willett BRUCE 1870-1952 (s of Ellen Arbuthnot DALRYMPLE 1838-1904, 4xgt gd of 1^st Viscount STAIR 1619-95 who was f of the 1^st Earl of STAIR d 1707, and three other sons who were all created baronets) and Edith Ellen DE ZOETE 1873-1949. She m 1^st 1952 reg Q4 London Edward Hay LAUGHTON-SCOTT 1926-78. She m 2^nd 1979 as his 2^nd wife the LP Baron RUSSELL OF KILLOWEN (cr 1975) 1908-86.
