He m 1st 1960 (div 1993) Hon Caroline Elizabeth THELLUSSON 1941-2010 d of 8th Baron RENDLESHAM 1915-99. He m 2nd 1993 as her 2nd h Judith Rachel Walton 1940-95 d of Rev Raymond John Walton MORRIS OBE. He m 3rd 1998 (as her 2nd h) Stephanie H b 1948 reg Q4 Notts d of George CARTER DFC. He was 4th cousin once removed of his successor:

Sir James Bowyer, 3rd Bt. [cr 1627], surrendered his title in 1678 and received a grant of a new Baronetcy [possibly with precedence to 1627], for Life only, with remainder to one Henry Goring, of Highden; this transaction may have been a purely commercial one, and there is little connection between the two men; Sir James died in 1680 and was succeeded by Henry; Betham, among others, counts Henry as 1st Bt., while Cokayne and Burke’s count him as 2nd Bt.; since the title had been first held for life by Sir James Bowyer, I think it more proper to call Henry the 2nd Bt.
