He was s of Maj Hon Rupert ANSON 1889-1966 (s of 3^rd Earl of LICHFIELD 1856-1918, gt gs of 2^nd Earl of LEICESTER 1822-1909, etc) and Marion Emma Ruthven 1891-1965 d of James HALLIDAY 1844-1922 and Jane E _ c1852-1931. He m 1964 Judith (Judy) Mary 1942-2015 d of Capt John Nichol KENNARD RN 1913-57 (3xgt gs of John KENNARD 1775-1838 who was 2xgt gf of Sir Coleridge Arthur Fitzroy KENNARD 1^st Bt 1885-1948) and Ann Claire 1915-83 d of Clifford Dalison BORRER 1885-1961 scion of that gentry family (later ORLEBAR) of Pakyns Manor, and Claire BONHAM-CARTER 1890-1920 scion of (later LUBBOCK) gentry family of Adhurst St Mary, and had two sons as above.
