A friend sent me the following:

From the Sydney Morning Herald, 3 April 2013:

"Lady D'Hine Broun (nee King) - 23.12.1923 - 29.3.2013 -- dearly loved wife of Sir William Windsor Broun (deceased), beloved sister of Ted King and Frank King.  Loving mother of Sheree and Rani and mother-in-law of Zac, Richard and Robert.  Devoted grandmother of Silas, Jasper, Desiree, Isaac, Anne, Savannah and Larissa."

Her husband was the 17th Baronet of Coulston, and died in 2007.

I'll defer to your obit which seems correct, though neither name makes much sense to me!

Curious she doesn't feature in the last two editions of Debrett (the ones I have to hand). The spelling appears to be  D ' H r i e according to all the reference books (Debrett, Burke's & Who's Who). Perhaps she remarried but kept her title - however incorrect or otherwise that may be....

Though the death was announced above, I repost this because the exact spelling "D'Hrie" [withno spaces] does not appear, so that when I searched for the name I did not find it in the archive until I searched her husband's name.

Her daughter's forename is "D'Hrie" in Debrett's, and that is how hers is listed in Burke's, where she is called "D'Hrie, daughter of Frank R King, of Bingara, NSW".

And yes, it is odd that she was already omitted from the 2011 Debrett's, though still alive, and though her daughters are included.

Google AI has this to say about the name "D'Hrie", indicating that she was not the first in her family to have the name:

"The name D'Hrie (often stylized as D'hrie) is a highly rare and primarily historical Australian given name. It gained minor public recognition in New South Wales during the 1920s through the prominent King family of the Bingara district, and later through the marriage of D'Hrie King to William Broun.

"While it has been occasionally used for a handful of Australian women, it does not trace back to traditional Indigenous Australian or major European roots. The apostrophe and phonetic rhythm suggest it may be a unique, localized phonetic creation or a highly obscure family name repurpose.

"Notable historical mentions of the name in Australia include:

"D'Hrie King (Cowpe): Born in the 1920s in Bingara, NSW, and well-documented in the Australian Cemeteries Index.

"D'Hrie Broun: Documented in historical society records and Trove Newspapers, gaining mainstream press for her 1952 wedding to William Broun.

"If you are encountering this name today, it is likely an inherited family middle name, an honorific, or a highly personalized contemporary creation."
