From the Telegraph of 2 October 2010:

OLIPHANT
Jonathan (Jumbo) Beresford, late 7GR, passed away peacefully, aged 79
years on 30th September, after a short illness. Beloved husband of
Jean, adored father of Catriona, Janet and Angus and proud
grandfather. Private family funeral, followed by Thanksgiving Service
at St Michael and All Saints, Urchfont at 12 noon on Friday 5th
November. Donations only to Gurkha Welfare Trust and Dorothy House c/o
John Stuart Funeral Directors, Devizes, 01380 723883.

He was the son of Capt the Rev Donald Aden OLIPHANT (1891-1963), of
that Scots gentry family, and Jocelyn Hope (dau of Maj Francis Henry
YOUNG JP of Stillyans, Horam, Sussex). He m 1959 Jean Evelyn Louise (b
1932) dau of Arthur Evelyn Francis MURRAY (1888-1972), scion of the
dukes of ATHOLL, and and Louise Isabelle (1897-1996 dau of Lt-Col
Addis DELACOMBE DSO (1865-1941) of Shrewton Manor, Wilts) and had a
son and two daus as above.

I believe he is of the Oliphaunt BLG family of Condie- whose head and
Maj.Jonathan's 3rd cousin Richard is now officially recognised by Lord
Lyon as clan chief as Oliphaunt of that Ilk and foremost claimant to
the dormant (and attainted) Scottish peerage title of Lord Oliphaunt-
rather than the 'rival' branch of Ardblair and Gask.

There was a story in the Daily Mail last year about the heir presumptive to the Oliphant Clan Chiefship, the present Chief's yr brother,  Graham Roderick Laurence Oliphant here -   How on earth did Graham Roderick Laurence Oliphant of that Ilk end up as Britain's poshest fast food delivery driver? | Daily Mail Online.  It seems he had a 2nd m and 2nd (unnamed) son
