"Jenny Trevelyan died peacefully at home in Coronado after a short illness, with family at her side, on Tuesday, Jan. 8. She was 98.
"She was born in County Surrey in England on March 20, 1920, and lived there with her parents, Arthur and Gwendolyn Riddett and her brothers Owen and Leonard until the start of World War II in 1939. During that time, her family maintained a connection with distant cousins in Riverside, California who had a daughter her age and an older son. Jenny travelled to the U.S. to visit them in 1939, where she began lifelong relationships with Eva and Norman...
"...In 1950 she and her family visited the Riverside cousins and she and Norman got engaged. They were married in July of 1951 in Riverside and settled in San Pedro, California, where they started a family...
"...After Norman’s death in 1996, Jenny lived independently in the loving company of nephew Alex, niece Sarah and family, with whom she shared a home...
"She will be greatly missed by many, especially her children Jane (David), Edward (Debbie), George (Helen); her many grandchildren; and great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Annie, Alex, Tat, Eva, Robin, Gerald, Sara, John, Patrick and Philip and their families. Special thanks go to granddaughter Kathleen who was her loving caregiver for the last few years of her life...
"A memorial celebration of Jenny’s life will be held in the garden at 1041 Adella Ave, Coronado, on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m..."
