Oliver Faire is, maternally, a 3 x greats-grandson of Richard BULLARD (8 II 1808 - 3 II 1864), who founded Bullard & Sons Ltd, brewers, in Norwich in 1837. Richard Bullard's son, Sir Harry BULLARD, JP, DL (3 III 1841 - 26 XII 1903), was MP (Conservative) for Norwich,1885-86 (before being unseated on petition), and again from 1895 until his death; he had previously been Mayor of Norwich in 1878, 1879 and 1886.
Sir Harry Bullard's son, Col Gerald Thomas BULLARD (1876 - 10 V 1932) was the husband (married 1915) of Eugenia BARCLAY (28 II 1885 - 25 II 1973), of that landed gentry family, and their son, Gerald Humphrey BULLARD (20 XI 1916 - 16 I 1989), and his wife (married 1951), Patricia Frances Marigold READ (1928 - 30 XII 2022), were the maternal grandparents of Oliver Faire.
Mrs Patricia Bullard, née Read, was a daughter of Lt-Col Robert John Sayer ("Jack") READ (1884 - 7 X 1956) and his first wife (married 6 IV 1922), (Helen Dorothy) Winifred ("Winnie") VERNON (17 VI 1899 - 26 VI 1942), who was a granddaughter of Sir William VERNON, 1st Bt (13 XII 1835 - 24 VI 1919).
Bullard & Sons Ltd was taken over by Watney Mann Ltd in 1964, the brewery being closed in 1969. The Bullard name was revived in 2015 for a gin distillery in which Oliver Faire's uncle, John Gerald BULLARD (born 17 X 1952) is a shareholder.
