The engagement has been announced between Lord (James) Christopher
Douglas Wellesley (b. 1964), youngest son of the 8th Duke of
Wellington, KG, LVO, OBE, MC, and the Duchess of Wellington, of
Stratfield Saye, Reading, and Emma Nethercott, a French teacher at the
school attended by Lord Christopher's daughter.

But...er, just one problem. Lord Christopher is still married to his
wife of 10 years, the former Laura E. Wedge.

Apparently, the Wellesleys have yet to divorce, and Miss Nethercott
wears her engagement ring on a chain around her neck.

Lord Christopher's first marriage 31 March, 1994, was to Laura E,
former wife of Barry Cox, the co-founder of the Hard Rock Cafe, and the
only daughter of Terence E. Wedge, who inherited a family roofing
business and expanded it into a property company with a £40million
turnover.

A daughter, Eleanor Rose, was born 9 December, 1995.

Lady Christopher Wellesley is currently dating the Hollywood actor
Bruce Payne, who starred with Wesley Snipes in "Passenger 57".
