Euan Douglas Graham, CB, who died 14 December 2007 aged 83, was
Principal Clerk of Private Bills in the House of Lords for 24 years
during the period when the chamber was evolving from an almost wholly
hereditary body to one increasingly dominated by life peers. He was a
scion of the Dukes of Montrose, a grandson paternally of the 5th Duke
of Montrose; & was b 1924, a son of Brigadier Lord (Douglas) Malise
Graham (1883-1974), by his wife the Hon Rachael Mary Holland (d 1977),
a dau of the 2nd Viscount Knutsford. He was educ at Eton; married
1stly 1974 (div 1970) Pauline Laeititia Tennant, scion of the Barons
Glenconner, dau of the Hon David Tennant, & former wife of Capt Julian
Lane Fox-Pitt-Rivers (see By Forster); married 2ndly, 1972, Caroline
Esther, dau of Sherriff Kenneth W.B. Middleton, and has an adopte son
by his 1st wife and 2 daughters by his 2nd wife.
