It would appear that she was the Gillian ORR (mother's maiden name Hooson) whose birth was registered in Keighley in Q2 1933. She appears to have been the only child of the marriage of Archibald J ORR and Lenda HOOSON, which was registered in Islington in Q4 1932.

The birth of Archibald John Orr was registered in Wandsworth in Q3 1873. His death, aged 62, was registered in Tendring in Q1 1936. Probate records show that he died on 4 March 1936. When the marriage of Lenda Orr to Rennie MOZLEY was registered in Keighley in Q4 1945, her name was also shown as Linda ORR and Lenda BOWDEN. The latter name is, however, a mystery, as I can find no Bowden/Orr or Bowden/Hooson marriages on Free BMD.

She is definitely called "Gillian Bowden" as early as the 1971 Debrett's.

Thanks all for the correct information. I didn't have a lot of time yesterday and am grateful for the help.
