From the Telegraph and Times of 8 August 2019: WARD Claire Leonora (née Baring) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her friends and family on 4th August, aged 83. Much loved mother of Rachel, Tracy and Alexander and grandmother of eight grandchildren. Remembered for her warm hospitality, gardening zeal and trail of rescued dogs. Memorial Service at St. Peter's Church, Cornwell at noon on Tuesday 17th September 2019.

She was The QUEEN'S fifth cousin (see below) and d of Amyas Evelyn Giles BARING (1910-86, gs of 4th Baron ASHBURTON (1873-1916)) and Olive Alethea SMITH (c1868-1964, scion of the (ABEL) SMITH family and BICESTER barons etc). She m 1956 (div 1974) Hon Peter Alistiar WARD (1926-2008, s of 3rd Earl of DUDLEY (1894-1969) and Lady Rosemary Millicent LEVESON-GOWER (1893-1930), scion of the SUTHERLAND and GRAFTON dukes, ROSSLYN earls etc, and had a son and two daus (including Tracy Louise (b 1958) 1st w of the 12th Duke of BEAUFORT).
