Obit in the Times of 12 Nov 2024. It corrects my post in that it gives details of his first wife by whom he had his first son. And my typo (Vigors) of his second wife’s name (Vigers).

Charles Fry obituary: Grandson of CB Fry and MCC chairman
Cricketer and administrator was caught up in the proposed redevelopment of Lord’s
One of the most significant portraits hanging in the pavilion at Lord’s is that of CB Fry, who played for England at cricket and football, equalled the world record for the long jump and for good measure turned down the throne of Albania. He was one of the great figures of the Victorian and Edwardian ages. A hundred years later his grandson, Charles, sat beneath his gaze as chairman of Marylebone Cricket Club.
Other descendants might have been overawed by this portrait of Charles Burgess Fry. ... The grandson, however, revered his grandfather, shared several of his characteristics and did not tire of being asked about the familial link…
… Born in 1940, Charles Anthony Fry was the third generation in his family to play as an amateur for Hampshire, after his grandfather and his father, Stephen, who became head of news for the Palestine Broadcasting Service. His mother, Yvonne (née Blunt), was the daughter of a fur trader in Finland. He grew up in Hampshire and, as with CB, was educated at Repton and the University of Oxford, where he studied cricket more than engineering — he graduated with a “sportsman’s” fourth-class degree — and was a blue for three years, 1959 to 1961…
… Fry married, first, Alice Stackpole, who grew up in Newport in the United States, but who died of a blood disease when their first child, Benjamin, was a baby. Benjamin became the founder of a trauma clinic, Khiron House in Oxfordshire, and has written books on psychology. Fry then married Jane Vigers, who worked for Mark McCormack’s International Management Group. They met through his friend Martin Sorrell, the businessman. She and Benjamin survive him, along with the twins from his second marriage, James, a hospitality operator who runs Beyond Aparthotels, and Annabelle, who has worked as a banker in New York and now runs BestGuest, a company that helps homeowners make the best return on their assets…
Charles Fry, cricket administrator, was born on January 14, 1940. He died from the effects of Parkinson’s disease on October 27, 2024, aged 84
