"Jamie Douglas-Home, nephew of former Tory Prime Minister Sir Alec, has been found dead at his Oxfordshire home eight days before his  62nd birthday.

‘It is tragic,’ says a friend of the horse racing journalist and former trainer. ‘He was devoted to his daughter, Emily.’

He inherited the title Lord Dacre on the death of his mother, Rachel, on Christmas Day 2012. It is a ‘barony in fee’, none of which have been created since the 14th century, and so can pass through the female line if there is no male heir. Emily, 31, becomes Lady Dacre."

Information from the Daily Mail.

Barony in fee, doesn't the newspaper mean barony by writ of summons? If so then there have been a few created since the date mentioned.

Clearly a typo in the Torygraph as your posting accurately reflects what the Telegraph published in May 2008:

DOUGLAS-HOME  Christine. On May 18th 2008, after a short illness. A Service of Thanksgiving will be held on Thursday 29th May at Holy Trinity Church, Ardington, commencing 3.30p.m. Donations payable to H.J. Knapp & Sons c/o Linda and Simon at H.J. Knapp & Sons, 4 Church Street, Wantage, Oxon OX12 8BL

Lord Dacre sadly killed himself. He had been suffering from months of depression.  (Presumably not helped by the death of his wife, said here to have died in 2008, and that of his mother).
