Think there maybe several more children from his first marriage, don't have my ancestry note's to hand. The children have various distinguished ancestry Waldhurg-Zeil, Oettingen etc through their maternal grandmother Countess Elisabeth Waldburg-Zeil.

You're right, Andrew- the Crosthwaite-Eyre pedigree I saved from the Burke's website some years ago (presumably taken from the 18th ed. BLG, given it doesn't show Antony's father, Sir Oliver, as deceased; BFI gives the most recent account of the family as the 1965 volume, which gives exactly the same information) gives, by his first marriage, Mark Edward (b. 1961) and Nicholas Oliver (b. 1963). Given the date of this pedigree and that of his second marriage, it's possible there were other children too; BMD records show Caroline A. (b. 1965) and Chantal Elizabeth (b. 1969), mother 'de Robiano'.

Also, just for the record, 'Macha' de Robiano apparently had the first two names 'Marie Chantal', of which 'Macha' is evidently a contraction; her marriage record to Antony Crosthwaite-Eyre gives 'Marie C. C. H. C. F. de Robiano'; on a quick look around, I've had no luck ascertaining the names that the remainder of these initials represent.

Thanks Andrew- great to be able to update my notes; nothing more annoying than a set of mystery initials!

Alan Alfred Michael Mays-Smith (26 IV 1933 - 21 V 2015) was High Sheriff of East Sussex in 1995, and was subsequently appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant for that County. He was Master of the Clothworkers Company in the City of London in 1997-8, and as per his obituary on page 15 in the Autumn 2015 edition (No. 13) of The Clothworker (see https://issuu.com/clothworkers/docs/final_clothworker_13), he was the younger son of Lt Col Robert Shankland Mays-Smith, MBE (9 X 1902 - 1980) and his wife, Brenda Mary Hilda, née Rickett (1905 - 1990), (Robert) Martin Mays-Smith (17 XI 1930 - 25 IV 2014) being his elder brother.

Alan Mays-Smith was married in 1963 (registered Q4 - Chelsea) to Mrs Rosemary Wild, née Ellson (born 1938; birth registered Q3 - Surrey Mid East), and they had one son, Simon Richard Shankland (per company records, born September 1971; birth registered Q4 - Horsham), and three daughters, Charlotte M (born 1965; birth registered Q3 - Islington), Alexandra Hamilton (born 1968; birth registered Q3 - Islington), and Antonia Martha S (born 1970; birth registered Q2 - Horsham).

There are some interesting family connections. Brenda Rickett, the mother of Martin and Alan Mays-Smith, was the daughter of Hubert Cecil Rickett, OBE, JP (1877 - 1947), who was High Sheriff of Surrey in 1930-1, and her brother, Sir Denis Hubert Fletcher Rickett, KCMG, CB (1907 - 1997), was a senior civil servant. Sir Denis's son, William Francis Sebastian ("Willy") Rickett, CB (born 1953), another former senior civil servant, is married to Lucy Caroline Clark, a great granddaughter of Herbert Henry Asquith, 1st Earl of Oxford and Asquith, Prime Minister 1908-16.

Mrs Rosemary Wild was a widow when she married Alan Mays-Smith. She had been briefly married to Michael J T Wild, but he sadly died at the age of 25. His great-great grandmother, Frances Ellen Pemberton, was the sister of Thomas Pemberton-Leigh, the 1st and last Baron Kingsdown (1793 - 1867).

Mrs Rosemary Mays-Smith's parents were Kenneth Richard Ellson (19 X 1904 - 1985) and his first wife, Vera Mary Downes (13 V 1908 - 1972), whose brother was Wing Commander Eric Mytton Downes, OBE (1901 - 1963). Wing Cdr Downes was the father of Gillian Mary Downes (born 1930), who married Sir Archibald Birkmyre, 3rd Bt; their son is Sir James Birkmyre, 4th Bt (born 29 II 1956), and their elder daughter, Alison Mary (born 5 IX 1954) is the second wife of John Ailwyn Fellowes, 4th Baron de Ramsey.
