From the Times of 28 Jan 2026: WILLOUGHBY WILLOUGHBY Josephine died peacefully surrounded by family on 14th January, aged 94. Sister of the late Christopher and Nina and much-loved aunt of Charles, Vanessa, Patrick, James and Rupert. Service of thanksgiving at St Peter’s Church, Wolvercote, Oxford… at 2.15pm on 18th February. No flowers.

She was elder d of Cdr Ronald James Edward WILLOUGHBY 1884-1971 (4xgt gs of 1st Baron MIDDLETON 1672-1729, as well 4xgt gs of 8th Duke of SOMERSET 1695-1757, etc) and Constance Louisa 1894-1977 d of Rev Henry Nevile SHERBROOKE 1846-1916 scion of that gentry family of Oxton (as well 2xgt gs of 8 Earl of WESTMORLAND 1701-71, 2xgt gs of Sir James DASHWOOD 2 Bt c1713-79, etc) and his 3rd w Alice Maud 1857-1931 d of Henry Abel SMITH 1826-90 scion of that gentry family of Wilford Park (descendant of Abel SMITH the banker from whom descend many including The KING etc) and his wife and 1st cousin Elizabeth Mary PYM c1827-1877 scion of that gentry family of The Hasells and gd of 7th Earl of LEVEN & [6th] MELVILLE 1749-1820 etc. She never married.
