Isaiah 9:2
The people that walked in darkness, have seen a great light: to them
that dwelt in the region of the shadow of death, light is risen.
Today is the “official” beginning of Winter and the shortest day of
the year. Tomorrow daylight will be just a little bit longer and each
day after that, just a little more light. Even as we anticipate more
cold and darkness, the signs have begun already that spring is on it’s
way!
Even in the darkest of times and bleakest of circumstances, there are
signs of God’s presence among us, and where ever we bring kindness,
help, love, forgiveness, and hope, we are part of God’s bringing the
light to free those who sit in the darkness and shadow of death.
"O Rising Sun, you are the splendor of eternal light and the sun of
justice. O come and enlighten those who sit in darkness and in the
shadow of death."
O come, Thou Dayspring, come and cheer,
Our spirits by Thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
By the way - thank you for those of you who have been patient with my
lack of devotions and stayed signed up. I am hoping to get some new
sign ups with new congregation. I am going to make it a new year
commitment to have a devotion every Tuesday through Friday.
