Don't put too much time into the nice to have stuff until you get the must have stuff in bulletproof working order.
Just my two cents after doing the same journey getting our boat ready. We have a Passport 41 and crossed to the Caribbean in Nov from Hampton with the Salty Dawgs Rally. We had a sporting crossing to Antigua and I would not do it again with out a spare AP or self steering and/or a fourth hand. Third reef in the main is also a great thing as well as a heavy weather sail plan that you have rigged and used prior to doing any offshore passages.

Previously known as Further has now changed name to ND Life, with the
Hailing Port of Solomons MD.
My Name is Nick and Dori is my wife. we are the N&D in the ND Life.
So like may crazy people we are preparing to move aboard our boat in a just
over a year from now. I am going through the process of inspecting systems
and replacing old, outdated, broken, and missing items. We will be doing
updates along the way on our Channel. I don't consider us youtubers, we are
just dreamers with a channel we use to update friends and family. You are

But that is not the reason I am here. One of the draws to a Passport was
the community of support that is out there. Knowing that I chose a
particularly rare model with some age on here will marginalize the
first-hand knowledge I can find but I am glad to own a classic Passport
boat. She is a tank of a build btw. I look forward to getting to know some
of you and I hope to be able to add to the base of knowledge as we move
forward in exploring our boat.
