Thinking of lifting and perhaps shortening the boom

Here in Sunny Queensland Aus, and my fair skin, I've been thinking about a bimini extended fwd that will go under the Boom and leave, say a 1ft slot between top of Dodger and the Bimini, For appearances I would rather lift the boom say 9" parallel, Your thoughts are welcome.
