I just purchased a 1984 Passport 40 (#77). The boat is currently named
Bay Wolf, but we'll change that. It's on the hard in Annapolis, and
we'll be moving it to one of the marinas around Deale in April. Only
problem is we live in Colorado. But we'll be going back once a month
for a week or 2 to work on it and enjoy it. I have been lurking on
this group for some time, and look forward to tapping into your
expertise.

Hey Brian, congrats. I am on KALI, 1988 model. I am in the Caribbean for now
but heading to cross the Pacific in 2 months - solo of course. Let me know
if you need any advice on anything.

Btw - all, anyone in Panama in March?

Hi Brian and the group,
I also recently purchased a passport 40. It is located in Puerto
Vallarta. I will be re-naming it Pangaea. Funny thing is, I also
live in Colorado and travel to PV every couple months to sail and work
on the boat. I have learned a lot from monitoring this group, thanks
everyone!

Michael, what marina are you in in PV? I'm in Paradise Village, D-12,
on Freyja, a 1983 P40. Ian

Michael, sorry, I was querying the new Mike or Michael, who bought the
P40 in Puerto Vallarta. One of my sons is named Michael so even when
I see Mike I type Michael...... Ian

Ian,

I am in Marina Iguana slip 97, the private marina next to Marina
Vallarta. Will you be around in March? It would be nice to have
another passport owner around to look over my concerns/projects.

Brian - Welcome to the Passport family. We have hull #76 so I guess
that makes us neighbors! If they were laid up at the same time, the
one thing to make sure you look for are bulging floorboards by the nav
station/starboard sitting area. If you have those, like I did, you
have the infamous ballast oxidation issue. I am just mentioning it
since it was probably the same people, literally, who build both of
our boats.
