Hi all,

I'm going to be adding a cunningham to our mainsail trim setup on our 1984 Passport 40.  Any advice on setup would be greatly appreciated.  Pics would be a great bonus.

I'm considering a 4:1 fiddle blocks with a cam cleat.  From what I gather, I will need to create a strong attachment point on the mast below the cringel I'll be using in the mainsail for the cunningham.  I will probably use dyneema line with chafe protection from that attachment point, through the cringle to the block becket.  For those with this sort of system, what is the hardware used to create the attachment point on the mast?

Thanks for your thoughts and advice!

Best,

I know that Rutgerson makes these low friction eye fittings that fit into their pressed in sail rings.  I have no idea if they work with anybody else's rings, but it would be a good solution if it works.

Great suggestion.  Thanks Kenyon.  I think I might consider those for the reefing cringles as well.  I currently have low-friction rings seized to those cringles and it works much better than just using the sewen ring, but I don't like the idea of those flogging around.
