Court Papers: Accused Killer Stopped Taking
Medication
According to court
documents, the Berks County man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend at
Gettysburg College last week admitted to the crime. Court papers also indicate
that Kevin Schaeffer, 21, of Oley Township says he stopped taking his Zoloft, an
antidepressant. In the documents, police say Schaeffer admitted to strangling
Emily Silverstein, 19, and then stabbing her in the neck with a steak
knife. Police say Schaeffer and Silverstein were students at
Gettysburg College and the murder happened in Schaeffer's off-campus apartment
on Thursday. Schaeffer remains behind bars. He's due in court later this month.
