OK First off you are way, way, WAY! too up tight. Relax, take a
breather.
Now, You are afraid your kiddo is going to fall? Well guess what they
are... plain and simple, now I am not saying that it is ok to just let
them tumble down a flight of stairs but if junior falls just say Uh-oh
and go on with life. You really don't want to be uber over-protective
momma. You will make your kid, in the long run, overly dependent on
you. This you don't want unless you are ok with them living in your
basement when they are 35.
You have to accept that kids fall and get hurt but it makes them
stronger in the long run. Also they do not want a neurotic mom
following them around. Just keep an eye on them and if they are close
to danger that will cause a life threatening injury then step in. if
it will cause a scratch or a bruise, or even a little pain. its ok.
That is when you can swoop in and be nurse momma and kiss the boo boo
and make it all better. If you want some better advice on this talk to
your grandparents, your husbands grandparents and see what they say.
Their form of child raising is really what is missing in today's
society.
Now your room mates... that will take talking to them and they may be
on the same side of the coin I don't know till they post their
question as to how to make their kid go to bed at a decent time. Sorry
on that one
