“There is no vow like chanting the holy name, no knowledge superior to
it, no meditation which comes anywhere near it, and it gives the
highest result. No penance is equal to it, and nothing is as potent or
powerful as the holy name.” (Adi Purana)
Dear devotees,
Please accept my blessings
All Glories to Srila Prabhupada!
I am writing to wish you an excelent 2012! May Krishna always protect
you in all aspects. I always think of you and I pray to Krishna that
you are always well.
Please take shelter in the Holy Names of Krishna. It is the only
secure boat in this turbulent ocean of Kali-Yuga. Always chant your
japa with attention and devotion. It is the best therapy, the most
powerful introspection, as this sloka from Adi Purana above instructs.
I had planned to write earlier but I was in the marathon, distributing
Srila Prabhupada’s books and instructing the devotees on the different
approaches in Sankirtan. I ask you forgiveness for this delay
I thank all who sent me the New Year’s vows and as I have promised, the
article on Nama-Hatta programmes, will be sent in few days time.
The devotees are asking me about the New Year’s eve celebrations
here:there is none?.Indian people call it a British New Year, just as
there is a Chinese New Year, Indian, Jewish, there is also a
Christian. There is
no national celebration like we have in the West.
They celebrate in some places in India, like Pune, Bombai, etc?but as
it is a holiday on the first of January, we organized a feast for
students: ecstatic kirtan, excelent prasada and Dancing Kirtan:the
devotees collected from Internet different western style Kirtan
rythms and everybody dance until 2 in the morning. They also projected
Krishna’s Lilas on the wall.
We went to sleep 3.30 in the morning!
I gave a welcoming lecture with a moder-scientific approach of Krishna
Consciousness, wishing happy 2012.
It was the only temple in Lokanath Maharaj’s zone that organized the
New Year’s celebration.
Story Tales from India? Next time?Hari Bol!
