Wow!
What an Election!!
The Results could not have been more interesting & tantalizing!!!

The Final RESULTS now:

BJP        32
AAP       28
CONG     8
OTHERS 2
              ___
Total       70_

There are now many options open :

A. A Suspended Assembly - No party is willing/ready to form goernment. Both BJP & AAP are ready to sit in opposition as both take the stand
that they do not want to get into coalition or dirty games of jodo-toto politics & take the high moral ground in the face of AAP's prior
    announcements to this effect.
The Assembly is in suspended animation - Lt. Gov. would run Delhi (Proxy for CONG). Elections to take place again - most likely with the 2014
    Lok Sabha elections.

2014 elections - Can AAP afford to fight these elections again with the same vigour, pure & selfless public support and come out a bigger
winner & form government with clear mandate?

B. AAP sits as Opposition : BJP is able to form the Government either by splitting CONG & inducing 'Others' OR by the benevolence of AAP as a
minority Government - AAP may let them form the government by abstaining in a confidence vote. AAP members defecting to join BJP is
impossible - so BJP runs a lame government, totally at the mercy of AAP. BJP would have to be at its best behaviour - the hunger for power
may yet be a strong lure to take this risk. AAP may not trip them as long as they play along without any foul play.

AAP will learn the ropes of Governing & Administration as opposition & de-stabilize the government whenever they think BJP is playing foul &
they are ready to take reins of control.

C. AAP forms the Government :  AAP is in a position to form government with CONG support. But AAP has made lofty announcements of not
seeking or offering support to any party & they do not want to be seen as power-hungry or giving up their high moral road. The CONG would
like to deny power to BJP at any cost - so how about propping up support to AAP to keep BJP out? Even an UNCONDITIONAL OUTSIDE
SUPPORT to AAP. AAP can enjoy unstinted support from CONG - no Common Minimum Program/no conditions. AAP can run the govt as it
likes as long as it likes - even the Jan Lokpal Bill that no other party wanted can be pushed through - this is no compromise & not giving up the
high moral platform as long as they publicly stay transparent hey & clear. In any re-election, the natural advantage of incumbency in running
an election would be available(this is not misuse of official machinery).

Would the raw hands be able to run the government or would they fall by the weight of their inexperience or the tricks of the old parties?

I see the above three options before Arvind.

Would you like to offer YOUR ADVICE TO ARVIND???

We now have the LEADS for all the 70 seats - this is pretty much the final tally as the count is almost complete.

BJP       33
AAP      26
CONG    8
Others    3

AAP has the largest share of votes - more than 32%.

We now have the LEADS for all the 70 seats. This is pretty close to my prediction. I had put in a bit too much importance to Congress Vote Bank which now stands totally decimated. It is also evident from Arvind's Vote Share of about 60% from New Delhi against Shiela who has conceded defeat & resigned.

ALT 1 : In the present scenario, BJP has not won the majority - but if 3 others join them, it would be BJP+ govt & AAP would be the opposition. That would be a perfect situation - let the raw AAP team learn the ropes of Governance as a strong & vigilant opposition for some time & form the govt after the next elections in Delhi, maybe alongwith the 2014 parliamentary elctions or maybe later.

ALT 2 :There is another possibility - BJP may not muster the 36 figure. AAP + CONG + Others can make it to the half-way figure of 36 & this combination can form the govt. Even though AAP does not want a coalition with CONG; but CONG would be ready & willing to support AAP to keep BJP out. Would AAP be ready to form govt (Arvind trounces Shiela &  was the No 1 CM joice in pre-election polls) with only outside support from CONG?

What should AAP be doing in this hung assembly scenario?

I will venture to make a prediction re DELHI - it may be a wild guess, an educated study or maybe just a hunch :
                                      OPTIMISTIC
AAP         15 + 2 Seats      25 + 2

Congress  15 + 2               20 + 2

BJP          30 + 2               35 +  2

Arvind will win New Delhi seat with 35 + 2% votes, Shiela 30 + 2 % & Vijendra 30+ 2 %.

Arvind will become the CM after a lot of haggling, pushing-pulling - whatever may be the election result (unless BJP gets an abs majority). Congress is OUT of power in Delhi..

I hope Arvind steps down from his idealism & does not force a re-election in case of hung assembly.
He has to be pragmatic about it all - it was fine to make pre-election announcements of no coalition to show confidence 7 instill confidence in supporters - a great election strategy - but after the results, one has to be pragmatic - it would not be a compromise but a practical decision.

Anyone else wants to make a guess?

He should prevent Re-Election at any cost as it may not be beneficial for his party particularly if he
wants to field candidates in Loksabha election in 2014. He should also appreciate that present era is
an era of coalition at least at the National level and forming Govt. without supporting or taking support
is difficult. Therefore if coalition is compulsion at the National level why to refrain from it at state level
if situation demands so.

By being in Govt. would make it easier to carry out the task of political revolution, checking corruption,
inflation etc. Such opportunity may not come again If his party fails to deliver on the promises made.

Out of the two alternatives, he should choose the one which matches his party"s ideals more and with
whom he is able to form more stable Govt. then set out conditions and arrive at the common minimum
 programme before agreeing.

Therefore, I strongly recommend Arvind Kejriwal to make a serious bid for power. People  are looking at
him with great expectations.

Heartiest Congratulations and  best wishes for Arvind Kejriwal ! !

Do not be afraid to be in power! Your supporters are behind you. If you chicken out this time what would be the incentive for your supporters when the next election comes in. Just to be a critic in opposition? What if you do get the majority. You will forced to be in power. You have the opportunity now. Grab it for the sake of supporters. Do not let them down.

The latest today evening is that Lt Gov has invited BJP (largest group with 31+1 Akali Dal = 32 seats) to ask them if they can form the govt & BJP's public declaration has been that they do not have the numbers & so they would decline. This itself is a phenominal change from the 'Horse-trading' politics that was the norm earlier - we can call it AAP effect or Kejri effect.

If they change their mind in the meanwhile & accept the offer, that would be wonderful - for everyone concerned. BJP would get the Laddoo they were so hungry for, Country would be spared the trauma of another election & AAP volunteers would get the space for R & R for 2014. AAP would sit in opposition & learn the ropes of administration, BJP would have to behave & perform & everybody can relax for a while.

If BJP actually can get over their hunger for power & politely say NO, THANK U, SIR to the LG,  LG would then call Arvind & ask him if he can form the govrnment. CONG has been proclaiming UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT to AAP (to keep BJP out). AAP 28 + 8 CONG = 36 (past the half-way mark of 35).

THIS IS THE MOMENT, ARVIND THAT COMES RARELY - THE MOMENT THIS NATION HAS BEEN WAITING FOR SINCE JP's FAILED REVOLUTION.

GRAB IT - GO FOR IT - HAVE NO DOUBTS. CONG WILL HAVE TO SUPPORT YOU FROM OUTSIDE for its own reasons & YOU CAN NOW DELIVER ALL THAT YOU PROMISED TO DO.

    Dear Chandra Jain ,

As I said earlier, Kejriwal HAS to form his Govt. with UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT from Congress . He has come this far, and he has to move on. Let him not be afraid of his team's inexperience, they will learn even if with some mistakes.

I was talking to a group of Taxi-Drivers at Delhi Railway Station yesterday. They said many of our friends voted BJP only because they were unsure of Kejriwal and did not want to waste their vote. Had they any inkling of what was about to happen, they all would have all voted AAP.

Now that he is almost there, he should form his Govt with outside support from Congress, and without any of their conditions.

He has a chance to make a govt. here and now.... You never know what happens in future ! A bird in hand is.............

Have his Jan Lokpal Bill passed now and whatever other promises he can keep. This experience will be useful for fighting the General Elections later.......after all we finally want to see him as The PM !!!

ARVIND KEJRIWAL , GO AHEAD AND FORM YOUR GOVERNMENT IF YOU GET CONGRESS' UNCONDITIONAL SUPPORT !!!

    Article in media...

A groundswell of ordinary folk called AAP, led by activist-politician Arvind Kejriwal.

A very early penny-paisa has dropped in three ways like never before. Inklings that must impact old cynicisms and new alliances.

    1. Your vote has begun to matter, urban India!
A combo of Election Commission campaigns and volunteer driven efforts exhorting citizens to vote has led to unprecedented numbers voting across these assembly elections. Every state has reported its highest ever in recent times. Call it disgust with current politics or a maturing citizenry, a country that received universal adult franchise in one shot with Independence is reaching out. Urbanites, given to long rants previously are now beginning to walk to the voting booth. Will this make numbers swell in General elections 2014 and your vote count even more, with issues that unite this nation?

    2. Volunteering can be an active force in politics and elections specifically
From the early days of Association of Democratic Reforms teams training young volunteers in collecting affidavits of contesting candidates and putting up that data in the public realm to the formation of AAP. Scroll through the AAP FB page and most of its videos show you their volunteers. Their backgrounds have been fore grounded. And while every party has a history of volunteering, the speed with which AAP has worked its strategies has left political pundits and brand managers
    confounded

Brand strategists are calling them the classic disruptor.
"Startups, especially those gunning to be a disruptor in their sector, have much to learn from the AAP. Right from the start, AAP banked on being a differentiator. They discarded time-tested theories, and stuck to their guns. They gave the people a much-needed alternative. They did it their way and won.’‘

    3. Criminal candidates don’t have to win. Honest candidates don’t have to lose
In a political climate, charged with the entire a la carte of dishonesty, the odd honest independent who won, was seen as a local exception. But Aam Aadmi Party with its wide win now has the Election Commission changing their party status to a STATE party. Transparency stands a chance of winning?

There is no doubt that AAP is a Delhi story. But with voters across the Assembly seats speaking up against a lack of leadership in  other states.....

    ****

most of us felt great when we got through IIT... setting up a political party and winning against veterans
.. (yeh sapna to nahi hai ...) INCREDIBLE..

Chetan Bhagat might have a great story and Aamir Khan might make a > 100 cr movie

    Congratulations on enormous achievement...

With re-election it may  be more difficult particularly for AAP  to manage simultaneous elections for Assembly as well as Loksabha

However, after noticing the blame games being played, BJP has become alert and is also refusing to take support or give support thereby plunging Delhi into President Rule followed by fresh election. This would increase burden on exchequer.

What if the public throws somilar numbers again in fresh election and no one gets absolute majority ?

COME ON, ARVIND. MAKE UP YOUR MIND BEFORE THE OPPORTUNITY SLIPS AWAY. YOU ARE IN A POSITION TO TAKE DECISION EITHER WAY & NOT BE FORCED BY CIRCUMSTANCES.

The LG has finally invited BJP leader Harshvardhan for a meeting this afternoon - the meeting is likely to take place late in the evening. Nobody is sure what will BJP decide at that moment - despite all public declaration to the contrary, the temptation to form government may prove to be too strong.
That is what AAP should hope & wish for. But more than that, this is something that AAP can make happen & DECIDE TO BE THE CONSTRUCTIVE OPPOSITION. If Arvind makes a public statement that since BJP is the largest party, BJP should form the government & AAP WOULD NOT PULL THEM DOWN as long as the government works honestly, then BJP would form the govt. AAP would not support the BJP govt but would let them govern honestly. AAP flock would remain together (there is no risk of poaching by BJP) & AAP raw legislators would get on-job training in Governance & administration as vigilant opposition.

In case BJP does not bite the bait, the SECOND BEST OPTION WOULD BE TO FORM THE GOVERNMENT with outside CONG support. CONG would be a pliant supporter for their own reasons & would let AAP run the govt totally unfettered, as if AAP had the ( 28 + 8 = 36) majority without even wanting any perks of office. The CONG legislators would be totally subjugated for their own survival & may even be ready to merge with AAP.
It would be the same situation as AAP would expect from any re-election - so why not grab it now!
With CONG outside support, AAP has virtual majority & would be hard-pressed to explain why they are afraid of taking charge. Are they only "rabble-rousers" & "anarchists", not ready to shoulder responsibilty & fulfill promises - only to expose & criticise others. This is a very heavy burden to carry on your shoulders after the spectacular performance.

    ARVIND,

    Rahul  Pandey  ,
awaiting your inputs  ...please outline quickly

we can take it up under lets vote  initiative  with JA Choudhary or any of the tech savvy forward looking MLA  in hyderabad   like Vivekananda reddy    who also happens to be my  School mate  .

However innacurate  the political system  may claim the SMS Referendum  is ..it has its extremely useful INDICATIVE POWERS !! which can make a lasting  impact in a ROGUE STATE which is totally isolated from its poople through arrogance and hubris ..the way we see AP politicians and  Cabinet today with a replication in teh center ..when non representative minsiters like Sushil shinde .Diggy sings /Moily  become executioners and representatives of the state  ..

to mobilise public opinion  and action the  right way   is the aim and lets  use technology teh smart way as shown by Arvind KEjriwal in Delhi

    best
