New status of palepedology

Dear colleagues,

The Paleopedology Commission of the V.V. Dokuchaev Soil Science Society has recently got a new affiliation. By decision of the Earth Sciences Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Paleopedology Section has been organized within the Quaternary Research Association.

This decision reflects the interdisciplinary nature of paleopedology and the growing interest in paleopedology studies among  the earth scientists.

The Quaternary Research Association aims to strengthen links with international societies such as INQUA, IUGS, IAG, IPA and influential foreign Earth scientists.
