Dear members of paleopedology google group,

Please, find INQUA August newsletter which in particular contains information on the extended deadline for NQUA Fellowship Programs financially supporting early-career scientists, and scientists from low- and middle-income countries/developing countries.

As you know we will hold XIV International symposium and field workshop on paleopedology «SOILS AS MEMORY OF CONTEMPORARY AND PALEO ENVIRONMENTS», October 7th-15th. For those who have not registered but would like to join the Symposium online, you still can do it. For that, please, fill in the registration form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdlzOZhb5ka24ZSWHWe-6b3ggfMDlO4SBxnANKbcokw7Am4NA/viewform?usp=sf_link

My best regards,

Maria Bronnikova

      Who is...

Dr Jan Kolář is an archaeologist working at the University College London. Broadly speaking he is interested in human-environment interactions during the Holocene. His work focuses on the relationship between major social and economic transformations, changes in land use and climate during the prehistory. He often uses large-scale archaeological databases and modelling approaches and combines his results with quantified outcomes of other disciplines (palaeoecology, vegetation ecology). Jan is connected to INQUA recently as one of the editors of the newly launched journal Quaternary Environments and Humans, where he is responsible for handling papers using modelling.

      Quaternary International

Quaternary International introduced ‘Track Your Submission’, a user-friendly page that shows authors information about the status of their manuscript under review.

      Please note

Quaternary International encourage authors to submit their Open Access papers. The journal publishes, apart from Special Issues, also stand-alone papers. There is currently no backlog and stand-alone papers can be published within 2 months after the first submission.

INQUA’s international journal, Quaternary International, publishes Thematic/Special Issues as well as Regular Issues with high-quality standalone papers. The August 2023 releases are QI Volume 664 (a Regular with 7 research articles), QI Volume 665-666 "
Two Million Years of Worked Osseous Technology: Proceedings of the 14th Meeting of the Worked Bone Research Group" (a Thematic issue with 16 articles). You are invited to send in proposals for Thematic/Special Issues to be published in Quaternary International, to the Editor-in-Chief (Jule Xiao).
