Hello Pakistan Volunteers,
Pakreport is still working and we are going on with our projects in
order to map immediate needs for the Pakistani population.

We have started a new pilot project with Internews and with
journalists as well as with WHO to map and receive information on
water and sanitation issues.

For this reason we have now more than 200 SMS in Crowdflower that
needs to be either translated or geo-tagged, so we would like to ask
you guys, whenever you have time, to help us a bit :)

Our best,
PakReport Team

Hi Anahi,

Would love to help - have some spare time tonight - can you just send out the web address that I need to go to please?

I heard a rumour that we now have a complete postcode list of towns and villages in Pakistan - can you confirm that this information is available for GPS locating, and if it is, where we can find it?

And how are you sorted for translators per language?  Do we need to fire up some of the links we built in the UK and Dubai during the start of the Pakistan response?

Apologies for all the questions, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who'll be asking them :-).

Sj.

Hi Anahi,

Would love to help as well and get more involved with Ushahidi again. Have been absent way to long :)

I`ll be interested in the links as well. I`m also trying to get back to the Ushahidi Haiti, Chile and Pakistan projects in order to build a handbook for all new Ushahidi members.

Okay... the first message I picked up on the CrowdFlower feed was this one:

"Initial Damage Assessment: Nazir Ahmed (UC Rahimabad). Details: Total 24 Houses of which 24 have been destroyed. 100% of crops destroyed. Water has receded"

Which is from August, and already in Ushahidi at:

http://pakreport.org/ushahidi/reports/view/499

a) How do I handle this in CrowdFlower?
b) I'm going to sound thick again, but is Nazir Ahmed a person or a place?

Right. Next dumb question.

I have a new report about damaged houses and the water having receded.
I've marked this as Logistics categories:
Collapsed Structure and Flooded Area

I also have an address of Mevo Balal (UC Bhanoth)
I've put this in the location name: Mevo Balal (UC Bhanoth)
But I'm not sure what to put into the Address and City boxes.  Should it be
Address: Mevo Balal
City: Bhanoth
?

Thanks, and apologies again for all the newbie questions.

Okay, less of the newbie questions from me - I've found the instructions at http://www.pakreport.org/ushahidi/page/index/2

Hi Sara,

I`ll be collecting the manuals tomorrow again, if you want we can have a video conference or skype and I can tell you a bit again about the basics and answer some questions for you :)

Sara,

If you are stuck any where then please ask on pakreport volunteers. We will try to answer most of the queries there.

Thanks

Hey Sara,

sorry for being MIA. You can also find instructions in the Google group in the file called Getting Started and some good mapping links in the file called Mapping Links.

If you manage to fire up some of the links you guys built in the UK and Dubai during the start of the Pakistan response that would be great!!!

:)

Hey Sara sorry for being MIA. You can also find instructions in the google group in the file called Getting started and some good mapping links in the file called Mapping links.

As far as translation it would be awesome to have some of the stuff done in the last CC fired up again!!

Cheers
