Dear Folks

I am about to finish my travelogue notes of Bangladesh ‘Rise of Dhaka’. Only few meetings and visits are remaining to document. Today I write on my visit to Shaheed Minar, Paltan Maidan, and tomb of Kazi Nazrul Islam and wrote about the history and background of Shaheed Minar.
In fact it was language riots and crisis which led Bengal...is to start a political struggle for their rights and ultimately that led them to their freedom. I have also discussed in details the political significance of the Maidan from Jinnah’s speech in 1948 to Mujib’s rally in 1969, which he was first time declared Banga Bandhu and reading of surrender document by our defeated army general Niazi.

I have also discussed the entire life and works of east Bengals Tagore, Nazrul Islam and his journey from a mosque mozin to revolutionary poet. I really love his poetry. please read this exellent prose of nazrul and enjoy

Regards
Zulfi
