Hey,

I have been into to paintball for a few years now but never very
hardcore. My marker is an old piranha model. I bought it from a course
that was closing down a couple of years ago. It has been doing the job
for me but I am looking for a new one for the upcoming season. Could
someone please give me a few tips on what to look for?

Thanks dusty

You should check a lot of Forums that reveiw paintball equipment. A
perfect would be:
www.pbreveiw.com
It doesn't have all of the brands, but it has the bigger brands that
people go after. I myself have a tippman 98 custom that i got for a
persent.

I think you should go for a tippman 98 custom..they are really good guns and have a lot more power.

Meh. The biggest question is how much do you want to spend? How much do
you know about guns? If you want a really good gun, and are willing to
work on it, an Autococker would be a great gun. They are really
dropping in price. If you want an ok gun, but really reliable with a
bunch of ammenities, get a spyder. If you want to get a really reliable
gun with a lot of guts but few ammenities (some sweet upgrages are
available, mainly a flatline) a tippmann would be good. Give a price
range, technical ability, and what you're lookin' for, and I'm sure we
can find something.

Just get an average gun, it'll do the job.

Hey,
I'm new to this group but have been playing for about 7 years. My
first gun was a tippman pro-lite and it was exceptionally easy to use
and care for, I never broke a single ball. But it depends on what your
going to be doing. If you play more in the outdoors and weather is a
factor a tippman would be the best I think. However, if your willing
to spend a little bit more and will be playing indoor in a speedball
set-up I would look for something along the lines of a Spider. They
are easy to upgrade and well built guns. I've owned both and found
that the spyder shoots quicker but the tippman was more durable.

Sounds about right to me. I loved the older guns. My old Spyder Compact
never chops. Its sweet. Now, my AMD with a Revolution, chops about once
per visit to the feild. Its kinda lame... but it is a lot faster. More
than anything, though. Just know how much you want to spend, your
enviroment/weather conditions, and what you're gonna play the most.

Basic guns are pretty good. I really think it's the person not the gun
that matters
