to PCBB, David Spangler
Cam, Bob, Wendy and all,

I've been deliberating this decision for more than a month and have finally decided I need to step down from PCBB. I have been my granddaughter's full time after-school program since she started kindergarten last Fall, T-F until 6:00pm. I will likely do this for several years. I've been getting "early" release on Thursdays for PCBB which does cause a little conflict with my kids work schedule, but we've been making it work. That time of night it takes 45-60' to get up there on time through heavy traffic. It makes the whole night a real rush.

I made my final decision after coming to last night's concert band rehearsal. It was so relaxing to drive there in 30' in light traffic. The stress of dropping Emmy off at the last minute, making sure I'm packed beforehand and driving in rush hour traffic was taking its toll.

I will still participate in concert band. I'm also in two other big bands. I'm getting good trumpet playing time but could use more to meet my personal goals.

I realize this puts PCBB in a jam and I've tried everything and contacted everyone I know to fill the spots we needed in the trumpet section. I would be willing to do another evening with a later start time, 7:30-9:30pm would be awesome. However, I think changing dates is not practical for PCBB. I have MWFSu available if that is a consideration.

I'm sorry I didn't get this decision made before we started Winter quarter. I love playing with everyone in PCBB. It's a great group. I've learned a great deal about BB music from you all.

I'll see you all before concert band rehearsals, when they are in the same location.

Cheers!
