The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) approved placement of Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) cameras for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on state land in Michigan. CBP then contacts local law enforcement to make traffic stops that lead to CBP arrests.
Contact the MDOT Director to demand that the agreement be rescinded:
MDOT Director: Bradley Wieferich
MDOT Office Phone: 517-241-2400

“Hi, my name is [First Name Last Name], and I am a resident of [City/Township]. I am calling to express my objection to the approval of ALPR cameras for Customs and Border Protection on state land. This agreement raises privacy and security concerns for MI residents, directs state and local resources for federal immigration enforcement, and leads to further separation of Michigan families. I urge you to rescind MDOT’s agreement with CBP. Thank you.”
