US Water Alliance support for Michigan's bipartisan affordable water bill package

Greetings, everyone.

A new op-ed offers national support for the Senate Bill package that PWBC has co-led. It's by Mami Hara, CEO of the US Water Alliance, and DWSD Director Gary Brown. This is yet another affirmation of the important and critical components of the bipartisan Senate bills to create a statewide water affordability program and fund, shutoff protections, tenant protections, and decriminalization legislation.

Additionally, two Republican bill sponsors have been secured in the House for more bipartisan support. The bills will be introduced in the House very soon.

Lastly, it seems more Detroit-based support for the bill package will be available with Mayor Sheffield's appointment of Fred Durhall III as her Director of State Governmental Affairs. He is a former City Councilmember and she is a strong supporter of the bill package.
