Depreciation methods

A question for the CPA-types in PTUG -

Does anyone use a depreciation method based on equipment hours rather than calendar time (straight-line, et.al.)?
If so, how are you managing it?
What software are you using?
Do you have audited financial statements, and if so, does using equipment hours require disclosure?
Were there other GAAP issues encountered in using this method?

On another note…

 

Paul Miller (pmi...@weddlebros.com) retired on 03/01/15.  His email can be removed from the PTUG distribution list.

Mike Ryan (mr...@weddlebros.com) has assumed Paul’s responsibilities and is our IT Manager at Weddle Bros.

 

I don’t know who maintains the PTUG distribution list, but I’m hoping this email is sufficient to make these changes happen.

Hi Steve,

I'm not sure if anyone is maintaining PTUG's mailing list.  As the owner of the mailing list I was able to make the changes that you requested.

Perhaps the mailing list may be a good discussion subject for PTUG-2015.  I had setup the mailing list using "Google Groups" under my personal account sometime in mid-2000.  Considering technology changes and advanced features offered by current social networking services, it may be more beneficial to use a different service than Google Groups.

I would have thought you passed the mantle on that responsibility when you left ACCO.  I appreciate you still taking the time for this change.

 

I agree it should be a topic at this year’s PTUG conference.  Shouldn’t take much time for one of our IT gurus who are Profitool clients to suggest a better platform, if one exists.
