When Mahatma Ghandi was interviewed in London, a journalist asked him "What do you think of western civilisation?"
Ghandi replied "I think it would be a good idea!"
His answer said that the civilisation of western culture would be a good idea, and implied that we should all take steps towards civilising our culture and its people.
For the time being, mankind is busy polluting the planet, attacking each other in war, destroying the forests that produce our oxygen, and killing off animal species that took millions of years to evolve.
Worse, we are even killing our own sons and daughters in the womb, at the rate of twenty-three million babies, the youngest of our species, every year, in the world's abortion clinics. Thank God, each year the abortion rate is going down, from its peak which was almost thirty million, a few years ago.
So pray for the civilisation of our planet, so that we will no longer treat each other so cruelly and in such a barbaric fashion. Visualise everyone treating each other kindly. And practice kindness towards others every day.
As often as reasonably possible, pick out someone who you don't like very much, bless them, pray for them, and do some secret act of kindness towards them, in such a way that no-one will ever find out who did it.
