Japanese game industry up 6% in 2005

game-science.comAccording to Enterbrain, the Japanese videogame industry grew 6% in
2005 over 2004. Notably, hardware sales were up 46.9% versus 2004. The
top three hardware platforms for the year were the DS, with over 4
million sold in the year, the PSP with 2,220,000 units sold and the
PS2, with a weaker-than-usual performance of 2,130,000 units. Total
revenue for the Japanese game industry for the year was 454.73 Billion
Yen.
