I know, I know, the Huddleston Cup is happening as I write this, and I
hear Sailstice may be taking a back seat due to the rescheduling. But,
hey, summer is SOOO short, and winter will come again all too soon!
Isn't our whole purpose in life (at least in warm weather) to sail?

It's a great chance to just hang out on the water, on your boat or
someone else's, and be with all those folks you know or don't know (but
will know!) at our favorite summer hangout. If you haven't signed up
yet, do it even if you aren't sure you'll make it. You know you want
to....

If no food can be arranged, we can always go down the road for
barbecue, right?

Let's go sailing! Sail until Sunset (that's my unofficial name for the
event)-

This year there are categories to win-some for prizes, some for
recognition:

BEST SUMMER SAILSTICE PHOTO; BEST SUMMERSAILSTICE STORY; BIGGEST SUMMER
SAILSTICE EVENT – NUMBER OF SIGNUPS; BIGGEST SUMMER SAILSTICE EVENT –
NUMBER OF PARTICIPATING BOATS; LARGEST CREW; LONGEST DISTANCE SAILED;
SUMMER SAILSTICE FISHING CONTEST

Reasons for the Club to participate: http://www.summersailstice.com/3/

You can win Prizes just for signing up!:

Well, the official Sailstice is Saturday, so I plan to be there as
early as I can get my rear out of Louisville and on the road! If people
are planning to do Sunday, too, I'll throw my tent in the car along
with my dog and we'll spend the night.
Only after the last tree has been cut down;
Only after the last fish has been caught;
Only after the last river has been poisoned;
Only then will you realize that money cannot be eaten.

It'd be nice if you could arrange for some awesome wind. I didn't come
for the Huddleston because according to 4 weather sites 3-5 was all
that was expected from BG to Glasgow.
