I hope everyone made lots of contacts in the ARRL Jan VHF Contest that ended moments ago. The 6m band seemed to me to be pretty busy.
Logs must be submitted to ARRL and PNWVHFS within ten days after the event is over.
Please send Cabrillo logs as e-mail attachments to the PNWVHFS at:
We’re grateful if you include this line in your Cabrillo log:
CLUB: PACIFIC NORTHWEST VHF SOCIETY
One log has been received already at PNWVHFS as of January 18, 2026:
K7CW
If you sent me log and aren’t listed, I either didn't receive your log or lost it in my archives. Please try again. I send e-mail acknowledging receipt of all logs. Paper logs and chicken scratchings may be mailed to my address below.

PS – I tried something new for this contest. I wasn’t hearing much on my 3-el beam from my little hole down at sea level in a valley at the northern tip of Lake Washington. So, I hung a KB6KQ horizontal loop on the back of the rover van, and drove up to Horizon View Park at 500’ asl. This added about 10dB to all the local signals. Nice, and instant easy setup; just turn on the rig and open the laptop. Still no band opening at the time, but the locals sounded great, lol.
We received 13 contest logs so far:
AB9BH, K7CW, K7MDL, K7SYS, KA7RRA, KJ7BJS, KM7O, N0LL, N7PHY, W7FI, W7IMC, W7KRS, W7TZ
Here’s a tip to get the best Cabrillo formatting: After you submit your log to ARRL, they show you a final log with all the special fields filled in correctly. Copy/paste their log into an email to us! It guarantees you end up in the right category and everything else.

Happy Father’s Day to everyone. (I bet you have a father even if you’re not one yourself.)
We have 17 contest logs:
AB9BH, K7CW, K7MDL, K7SYS, K7YO, KA7RRA, KJ7BJS, KM7O, N0LL, N7DB, N7PHY, W7FI, W7IMC, W7KRS, W7MEM, W7TXT, W7TZ.
Today is a good day to finish that before your week gets busy. Deadline is Wednesday June 24th at 5pm Pacific.

Let me know privately if I lost any submitted logs, thanks.
We received 21 contest logs before the deadline last night:
AB9BH, K7BWH, K7CW, K7MDL, K7SYS, K7YO, KA7RRA, KE7MSU, KJ7BJS, KM7O, N0LL, N7DB, N7PHY, N7QOZ, W7FI, W7IMC, W7KRS, W7MEM, W7TXT, W7TZ, WA9BTV.
We’d love to receive more logs to include in our June contest history page, although they’re not eligible for fabulous prizes. (A friendly hint to K7IU, KD7UO, KG7P, N7EPD, and a few others who submitted ARRL logs but didn’t send us a copy.)
Also, it’s never too late to send us soapbox comments and photos.
Here’s something new: This year the ARRL published a preview of club scores and participants: https://contests.arrl.org/clubcompdetails.php?iid=1125#club_PNWVHFS
Let me know privately if I missed anyone. I know that my spam filter ate one incoming log and I hope it didn’t have a feeding frenzy.
