I found a IC-251A at the transfer station. It works. The IC-251A predates CAT. Heck it predates PC's!

I'd like to interface it to my PC/WSJT-X/? and play around on 2M. Is there a commercial product available or will I need to cook something up?

Could go with a NOMIC or similar device.. just use the Mic Input.

It’s possible that a SignalLink or better yet a Timewave Navigator is the interface you want. They both should be able to let a PC run all the digital modes and PTT you need on any rig no matter how old.
As it so happens, I have a new-in-box Timewave Navigator for sale, since no one was interested at the Puyallup hamfest yesterdsy. Never been connected nor used. Read up on them and ping me if interested.

PS - Gary we might’ve met in Pullman around 77-78. Go Cougs.

Thanks for all the info! I hadn't thought too much about stability so I'll be firing up the service monitor and seeing how it does. I don't want to put too much into this rig. I paid too much as it is. 🤣 I'll haul it up on Hurricane Ridge and see if I can scare up any CW contacts on 2M.
