Subject: [222Activity] The Fall VHF Sprints start on Monday !

Important Reminder!

The Fall Sprint Season kicks off this coming Monday September 21st at 7 PM local time (23:00 UTC) on 144 MHz.

The sprints will continue into September and October with the following bands / dates:

222 MHz    Tuesday September 29th from 7 PM EDT to 11 PM PDT

50 MHz      Saturday October 3rd from 1800 to 2200 UTC

432 MHz    Wednesday October 7th from 7 PM EDT to 11 PM PDT

902 & up    Saturday October 17th from 8 AM EDT to 2 PM PDT

More information and the complete rules are posted at:

Please note the following change from last year's running of the Fall VHF Sprints:

The scoring in the 50, 144, 222, and 432 MHz sprints allows 2 points for analog contacts and 1 point for digital contacts. Duplicate contacts = 0 points. If you log a station on digital and then later find that station on analog, you should work that station again and record the earlier contact as a dupe. Do not delete the earlier contact as that may result in a NIL (Not in Log) scoring error.

We hope all of you enjoy the activity and have fun in the Sprints.

The Pack Rats Fall Sprint Committee.

Read the rules very closely, especially on their web site.  Start times are in EDT and end times are PDT.  No mention of a 4 hour window after you start like the spring ones.  Analog worth more now but any second QSO is a dupe including digital so can't count both modes like spring.  Not well spelled out in the rules.
