As previously announced, I operated the 4th moon pass starting 3
hours after moonrise in order to avoid the 10+ dB noise from the
many solar powered LED lights when the antenna was aimed lower
across the northern end of the island. Despite being the day of
highest Degradation during the DXpedition, and the low Kp index,
which caused extensive one-way propagation, 22 additional contacts
were made. With the log corrections, the total contacts now stands
at 117. Thanks so much for all the contacts! As usual, the updated
log is available on my web page at:

I will start the next moon pass at 1730 UTC, 2.5 hours after
moonrise here. I realize it will be a bit noisier at that lower
elevation, but I want to provide some additional window for Region
2 stations during their moonset. This is a great chance for
horizon-only stations to learn about 6m EME and put their station
and antenna system to the ultimate test! I plan to operate
through to my moonset, and I noticed today that I do appear to
have a productive ground gain lobe between 3 and 0 degrees
elevation. The original operating schedule called for 4 additional
moon passes plus a 3 hour moonrise operation during the moon pass
starting on September 9 UTC before station teardown begins.
Because of the high noise levels on moonrise, the moonrise
operation on September 9 has been canceled. Depending on how many
additional stations are still being worked, some of the other
scheduled moon passes may also be canceled. HOWEVER, the
Degradation is improving daily, so there certainly is an incentive
to keep trying to contact smaller stations that so far have not
made it into the log! And since this next moon pass is over the
weekend, it presents a great opportunity for more stations to be
available. I have been amazed at the number of 6m stations showing
up to make contact with H44, and am hopeful that this moon pass
will also be productive.
As always, I will be on the ON4KST EME CHAT page and will be
transmitting again on 50.173 MHz at an offset of 1500 Hz in the
FIRST SEQUENCE using Q65-60A with the Q65 PILEUP option. I also
will watch the Active Stations List in the most recent version 3.2
of WSJT-X IMPROVED to determine which callers are copying and
should be selected for the next contact. As you know, it is very
important for all callers to utilize the benefits provided by this
new software if you want me to answer you! You can download this
latest version here:

MNI TNX to all the callers and I hope we can complete with many
more in the next few days. GL and VY 73, Lance
