All,

Just curious, does anyone in the PNWVHFS enter into either of these categories?   Single operator is fun and multiop is even more fun!  At least there is someone to talk to when the bands are dead  I have done it two different ways:
  • If someone has a good station and is willing to share, folks just show up to operate
  • If there is no fixed location, "band captains" bring gear for a certain band and we all show up, set up antennas and radios.  Kind of a "super portable" deal.
Going over scores, except for the Arizona Outlaws Contest Club it looks like the answer is "no" but I was just curious.

Hi John, yes our AI7ID Contest Club has done several VHF multiop contests and average 8 to 10 operators in the winter and half that in other VHF and HF contests   Club members come and go during the event and everyone e has a good time. We have members who are great of CW, knowledgeable on FT8, and smooth talkers
on FM and a few who like to log

Sometimes it’s like herding cats to get everyone on a radio and set up a schedule so they don’t all show up at the same time

Hi John,
I may be wrong, but my partner and I may have been the last Limited multi-op in the PNWVHFS club and that was probably 10 years ago. We operated mountaintops in CN72 twice and CN82 twice. We had a great time. We stopped due to health and age issues. I tried once or twice since to put together a team. I had a complete multi-op mobile contest station with radios, amps, antennas, etcc.....  but had no takers.  My QTH is very poor for propagation. Good luck if you try to put a team together.
