Overview:
Represents the end-user in software application interface design, development, usability , and integration.
Designs, develops and implements application performance support and instructional materials that enable users to successfully perform their job functions quickly, accurately and confidently. Leads the design and development of effective user assistance solutions that meet customers functional and performance requirements.
Functions:
The User Education Project Lead develops a User Education plan, recruits a team to execute the User Education plan, and manages the time and money allocated for the execution of the work on behalf of the User Education Manager. This includes identifying and recommending strategic decisions related to end-user training and technical documentation and implementing these decisions.
Instructional Design and User Advocacy:
Participates as the User Education representative on application development teams
Determines end-user performance needs
Assesses relevant characteristics of users and job settings
Determines scope of training requirements, and recommends appropriate
training and/or no-training interventions
Specifies usability and instructional design strategies
Writes or evaluates end-user performance objectives
Develops or evaluates performance measurements
Oversees usability testing of application and documentation
Develops or evaluates electronic performance support scenarios and activities that enable the demonstration of student competencies in the use of applications
Creates or directs team members to create design plans for user documentation and instructional materials for a variety of media
Evaluates instruction and training methods
Manages trainer certification and evaluation
Recommends enhancements to educational offerings by researching new technologies
Becomes application subject matter expert
Team Development and Coordination:
Identifies need for content development roles and staffs these roles with appropriately qualified team members
Develops and coordinates the execution of User Education plans
Resolves disputes internal to the team and assures a
high level of productivity among the team members
Informs the team of application changes as well as changes in schedule, budget, and strategic direction
Participates in review of all application user assistance and training materials
Manages overall project and deliverables of sub-teams
Represents the team at cross-functional meetings
Apprises UE management of personnel issues on the team, as necessary
Project Management:
Sets and manages the documentation and training development and deployment timeline
Allocates the specified total budget per project requirements
Tracks expenditures and progress to completion against the timeline
Coordinates UE activities cross-functionally within the project
Reports to project management and UE management regarding risks to budget and/or timeline
Participates in identifying and recommending strategic decisions related to end-user training and technical documentation and is responsible for implementing these decisions

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Educational Technology, or related field is required.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Five years of progressive experience in the design, development, and implementation of instructor and Web-based education solutions. Requires expert knowledge of adult learning principals and instructional design methodologies. Requires solid writing, analytical, interpersonal, organizational and decision-making skills. Two years of experience in the design of Electronic Performance Support solutions. Strong project management.
General understanding of business processes is required.
Advanced technical proficiency in relevant software applications is required.

Other:
This is a contract position requires the work to be performed in a normal 40 hour workweek Mon Fri during standard business hours unless otherwise stated. You must be a very strong technical match to be considered.
