Hello dancers!
For everyone planning to compete with us - especially at East Coast FireBall 2025 on Saturday, October 11th - our wonderful competition coordinator Xiang has put together a super helpful Competition Guide!
It walks you through everything from how to register all the way to what to expect on the day itself, so you’ll feel confident and ready! Please find it here:

For East Coast FireBall in particular, you’ll apply those instructions from the Google Doc above to this website:
Note for newcomers: You are absolutely welcome to compete! It’s always super fun and a great learning experience! However, if you feel you’re not quite ready yet, there will be plenty of opportunities to join in November and December or whenever you are comfortable!
Remember, you will only compete against people who have the same level of experience as you. The newcomer category is reserved for people who are new to ballroom dancing, so most of the newcomer competitors in this competition would have started dancing ballroom less than 1 month ago.
If you run into any troubles, don’t hesitate to reach out to a friendly board member at lessons, message Xiang at xi...@seas.upenn.edu, or drop a note in the Discord #comp-chats channel.
