Social Dancing Opportunities - Nov. 13 to Nov. 17

Hello Fellow Dancers,

There are two beginner friendly social dances in University City this week.  I am referring to the West Coast Swing dance tonight (Event #1), and the Latin dance at West Philly Ballroom & Latin Dance on Friday, Nov. 15 (Event #3).

1.  Wednesday, Nov. 13

What:  West Coast Swing Dance hosted by UCSwing

Where:  St. Mary's Church Parish Hall, 3916 Locust Walk, Penn Campus

Time:  Lesson from 8:30 PM to 9:15 PM; social dancing from 9:15 PM to 11 PM

Admission:  $5 with a student ID; $7 for everyone else; FREE for first timers

2.  Thursday, Nov. 14

What:  Bachata Thursdays (21+)

Where:  Lucha Cartel, 207 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19106

Time:  10 PM to 2 AM

Admission:  $6

3.  Friday, Nov. 15

What:  Latin Dance (mainly Salsa) Party

Where:  West Philly Ballroom & Latin Dance, 4520 Baltimore Ave., Phila.

Time:  8:30 PM to 12:30 AM (Mini-lessons plus social dancing)

Admission:  $12.  No partner or experience necessary.

If you have a PennCard, you can take Penn Transit (215-898-RIDE/7433).  You could also take SEPTA's 34 trolley.

4.  Sunday, Nov. 17

What:  Bachata & Salsa (18+)

Where:  Good Karma Cafe, 265 S. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA
Time:  8 PM to midnight

Admission:  $5 with a college student ID; $8 for everyone else

DANCE CLASSES:

Salsa classes with Drexel Salsa - Tuesday nights

Bachata/Zouk classes with Penn Social Dance - Thursday nights
